Install
(steps to download + install the MSI / .deb / .dmg)
First launch
VL Studio opens with an empty preset library — there is no bundled factory preset baseline. Your VoiceLive 3 Extreme is the source of truth.
VL Studio difference — Pull All vs slot-by-slot
The VL3X holds 500 preset slots, and the only way to inspect them standalone is to scroll through them one at a time on the device's LCD. There's no way to see your full set of presets side-by-side, and no way to get them off the device for backup or sharing.
Pull All reads every populated slot off your device into VL Studio's library in a single operation. From that point on you've got a complete local copy you can search, sort, tag, back up, share, edit visually, or hand to the AI for inspection. The device's 500 slots become a working set; your library is the durable home for everything.
- Connect the VL3X over USB.
- Open the Device page — you should see a connected indicator and the device's current preset slot.
- Open Library and click Pull All. The app reads all 500 preset slots from your device and stores them locally.
You now have a complete local copy of your device's presets, ready to edit / back up / browse via the AI chat.

Backups
Use Settings → Backups → Create Snapshot to capture your library state. Backups round-trip cleanly across machines — useful for moving between desktop and laptop, or recovering after a fresh install.
There is no immutable factory baseline. If you ever want to start over from your device's factory state, factory-reset the VL3X and Pull All again.
